PACC Roller Frenzy IV

Friday night I rode the purple Trek over to the Edwardstown Velodrome to watch some track racing, the PACC cyclocross awards, and ‘race’ in the Roller Frenzy. The race was setup with handicaps and in a bracket format. I ended up making it through to the third bracket, and it was surprisingly painful to sprint for 20-25 seconds / 500m a few times. I’m still sore two days later.

  • Aw C’mon, roller racing is pretty simple! Riders race against each other, and each rider’s roller drives their needle on the roller clock face. The handicaps in theory give the slower riders a head start (in distance, not time) over the faster riders which again in theory, leads to some very close racing. Theoretically, that’s it. Clear as mud? 😉
